2014|07|09
The most renown Polsih production designer, awarded an Oscar for “Schindler's List” and a César for “The Pianist,” a regular cooperator with Andrzej Wajda, and Agnieszka Holland, among others. Allan Starski, another guest at the 8th Two Riversides, will give away the secrets of his work during his “Cinema lesson.”
It is time to enter the magical world of cinema from its visual side. The profession and the very work of a production designer are often a mystery, even for film-makers. We will have a guide to show us this world though, a distinguished Pole, who worked with the best directors in the world. Allan Starski worked on projects for authors such as Krzysztof Kieślowski, Agnieszka Holland, Tadeusz Konwicki, Janusz Zaorski, Władysław Pasikowski, John Irvin, Jerzy Stuhr, Jens Carl Ehlers, and Roman Polański. In 2007 he made the scenography for “Hannibal Rising,” the prequel to the famous thriller.
Come to the “Cinema lesson” with Allan Starski on Monday, 4th of August at noon.
